Dr. Mahinda Parakrama Dissanayake has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority.
The letter of appointment was officially handed over this morning (February 17, 2026) by the Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation, Anura Karunathilaka, at the Ministry premises.
Dr. Dissanayake currently serves as Presidential Advisor on Maritime Affairs, Ports and Logistics. He has previously held key positions including Secretary to the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Southern Development, Chairman of the Ports Authority, and Chairman of the Jaya Container Terminal.
A veteran in the maritime and logistics sector, Dr. Dissanayake brings extensive local and international experience. He has also worked with several international institutions, including the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
