Tarique Rahman, Prime Minister of Bangladesh, held a special discussion yesterday (17) with Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr Nalinda Jayatissa.
During the meeting, the Minister extended warm congratulations on behalf of the Government and people of Sri Lanka to the newly appointed Prime Minister of Bangladesh. He also conveyed sincere appreciation for the timely assistance provided by Bangladesh to Sri Lanka during the recent Cyclone Ditwah.
The bilateral talks focused on further strengthening cooperation between the two nations, with particular attention to promoting tourist arrivals from Bangladesh to Sri Lanka and enhancing collaboration to advance the tourism industry. Discussions also explored expanding investment opportunities in pharmaceutical production, aiming to deepen economic partnerships between the two countries.
Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Dharmapala Weerakkody, was also present at the occasion.
