Venerable Pannakara Thero has expressed his gratitude to President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the government, and all those who supported the arrival of the global “Walk for Peace” in Sri Lanka.
He made these remarks while addressing a special media briefing held today (21) at the Attanagalla Rajamaha Viharaya.
The Thero emphasized that the initiative is purely a journey dedicated to peace and called on people around the world to unite for the cause of peace.
He also noted that the peace walk, which began in October 2025, has now completed six months. Stressing the importance of inner peace, Ven. Pannakara Thero stated that peace must first be cultivated within oneself, adding that the walk serves as a form of practice aimed at fostering peace.
