The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Mr. Radosław Sikorski, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya at Temple Trees recently.
A group of students from four schools located in the Hewanakumbura, Baddegama, Polonnaruwa and Wekandawela areas visited the Presidential Secretariat and the President’s House, yesterday (30).
Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya stated that yesterday’s young professionals must play a more active role in matters related to the national significance.
Considering the need of providing a qualitative and quantitative solution to the prevailing drinking water issues faced by the Ruwanwella, Bulathkohupitiya, and Yatiyantota Divisional Secretariat areas in the Kegalle District, the first phase of the Ruwanwella Water Supply Project was officially handed over to the public yesterday (29), under the patronage of Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya.
The Ministry of Tourism reports that over 1,006,000 foreign tourists visited the country from January 1 to May 25 this year, with the one million mark reached on May 24—the fastest on record.
