The People's Bank Pensioners Association has made a financial donation of Rs. 4.5 million to the ‘Rebuilding Sri Lanka’ Fund. Members of the Association’s pre-96 group, along with district-level organisations, contributed towards this donation.

Daily donations continue to be received for the Government’s ‘Rebuilding Sri Lanka’ Fund, established to provide relief to those affected by Cyclone Ditwah. Sriyani Dress Point has made a financial contribution of Rs. 20 million to the fund.
India has strengthened its humanitarian support to Sri Lanka in the aftermath of Cyclone Ditwah, providing critical air assets, emergency supplies, engineering equipment and medical aid to bolster national rescue and recovery operations.

Cabinet approval has been granted to establish the ‘Rebuilding Sri Lanka’ Fund, aimed at rebuilding the country following the severe devastation caused by Cyclone ‘Ditwah’, one of the worst natural disasters in Sri Lanka’s recent history. The Fund is to be established as a statutory fund under the Presidential Secretariat and its Management Committee will comprise representatives from both the public and private sectors.
