Parliament is scheduled to meet from Wednesday, 5th of February to Friday, 7th of February, said the Secretary General of Parliament, Mrs. Kushani Rohanadeera. The Parliamentary business for this week was decided at the meeting of the Committee on Parliamentary Business held on the 23rd of January under the chairmanship of the  Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne.

The British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, His Excellency Andrew Patrick, met with the Speaker of Parliament of Sri Lanka, Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne, at the Parliamentary premises recently. 

The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Sri Lanka, His Excellency Khalid Hamoud Nasser Alkahtani, called on the Speaker of the Parliament of Sri Lanka, Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne, at the Parliamentary premises recently.

Member of Parliament (Dr.) Nishantha Samaraweera was unanimously elected as the Chair of the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) of Parliament. He was appointed when the Committee on Public Enterprises met in Parliament recently  for the first session of the Tenth Parliament.

The Ambassador of Japan to Sri Lanka, Hon. Isomata Akio, met with the Speaker (Dr.) Jagath Wickramaratne at Parliament recently. The Secretary General of Parliament of Sri Lanka, Mrs. Kushani Rohanadeera, was also present on this occasion.

• The Hon. Speaker also announces in Parliament the re-establishment of two Parliamentary caucuses for the Tenth Parliament

Parliament is scheduled to convene from January 7th to January 10th, 2025. This decision was reached at the Committee on Parliamentary Business held recently (Dec. 31), under the Chairmanship of the Speaker, Hon. (Dr.) Jagath Wickramaratne.
